A Father’s Experiment

-PHYSICAL INCLUDED- This work begins with a question: What would happen if my father tied me to a rocket? Since December, I’ve been leaning into that question. I started investigating the shapes of attention, the ways learning is passed from one body to another. I remembered everything my father taught me. How he would show me things. Teach with his hands, with his voice. And me, right there beside him, paying attention, learning, or at least trying to memorize. That was how it worked. Until the day he could no longer bend down. That was the way I learned. I learned to listen. I learned to see. Even though learning is still present, I offer the past a strange gift: forgetting. A more transparent way of seeing through things. A digital transparency. A fake PNG that invades the surface and leaves behind a memory that might not be true. What if it didn’t happen like that? What if this is just a layer of coverage? **A series about distance.** About forgetting. And most importantly, about creating.
